The Boots

Ephesians 6:15

I was hiking the high moors with my canine companion, when the unthinkable happened: the soles began to come away on my walking boots. Disaster! Dampness oozed into my socks and I quickly found myself searching for dry routes rather than the normally boggy ones up there.

Life’s like that. The state of our footwear determines where we walk.

Our spiritual life is a daily walk, and we need to make sure we have the correct footwear on for whatever kind of ground we encounter today. The Bible describes our footwear as ‘the Gospel of peace’ or as I like to call them, our ‘Gospel boots’. With them on we are ready for whatever spiritual ground we have to cover today.

The Gospel is the ‘good news’ of knowing you are saved, secure in Christ, and filled with His power and peace. That is what makes you ready for whatever the day throws at you.

Your ‘Gospel boots’ are leakproof, have a lifetime guarantee and will never wear out. Our challenge is to consciously put them on each day, so we are ready for anything.
